The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) approved the Makuutu Rare Earth Project for implementation in October 2022 by issuing approval no. NEMA/EIA/16535. In 2024, the project acquired a largescale mining license LML00334 for operations in Bugweri district. The initial environmental compliance audit following NEMA approval was submitted to NEMA in November 2023.
Tenvicon was engaged to undertake the Environmental, Social, Health and Safety (ESHS) Compliance Audit for LML00334 in Bugweri District and Preparation of the Annual Corporate ESG Report for the year 2024.
