The project required strict alignment with the French Development Agency (AFD) requirements for the contractor's Worksite Environment and Social Management Plan (ESMP) and Biodiversity Management Plan. Existing draft documents contained weak sections that needed reorganization, and the Resident Engineer required expert guidance on Environmental & Social (E&S) start-up activities.
Acting as the sole consultant, we reviewed, reorganized, and improved the draft ESMP and Biodiversity Management Plans. We advised the Resident Engineer on E&S start-up activities and developed a comprehensive work program for the Project’s Environment Officer. Our scope also included drafting volumes for Greenhouse Gas Mitigation and Climate Change Adaptation, Life of Mine Rehabilitation and Closure, Occupational Health and Safety, and a Construction ESMP for the Demo Processing Plant.
We successfully delivered the final Contractor’s Environment and Social Management Plan (WESMP), associated management plans, and work procedures, which were fully approved by the Supervising Engineer and NWSC. We also secured approval for the final Biodiversity Management Plan.
